Understanding the Risk
Electricity in the water may have no obvious warning.
Damaged wiring, improperly installed equipment, deteriorating electrical systems, boat lifts, shore power, and other waterfront equipment can introduce electrical energy into the surrounding water.
Because abnormal electrical activity may not be visible, audible, or otherwise obvious, Dock Sentinel is designed to continuously evaluate conditions in the water near the dock and provide an additional layer of situational awareness.

Does Dock Sentinel replace GFCI protection?
No. Dock Sentinel provides an additional monitoring layer. Required electrical protective devices and proper electrical installation remain essential.
Does Dock Sentinel require Wi-Fi to monitor the water?
No. The core monitoring and local alert functions are designed to operate independently at the dock. Internet connectivity supplements the local system.
What happens if internet connectivity is lost?
Local monitoring and local alerts continue to operate. Connected status, history, and remote notifications may be temporarily unavailable until connectivity is restored.
Where are the sensors installed?
The monitoring sensors are installed in the water near the protected dock. Final production installation requirements and placement guidance will accompany the production system.
Can Dock Sentinel identify the source of an electrical fault?
Dock Sentinel is designed to identify abnormal electrical activity in the monitored environment. Detection does not necessarily identify the equipment or electrical system responsible. Suspected faults should be investigated by a qualified professional.
Does a SAFE indication guarantee the water is safe?
No. SAFE means no abnormal electrical activity is currently detected based on the system’s monitoring criteria. Dock Sentinel does not guarantee that conditions are safe.
